The 10 Best Upcoming 2018 Games
This list is based on speculation. Nothing more. Some dates are firm. Some are super loose and could end up in 2019. Comment below with what games excite you.
10. Metro Exodus(multi-console)- I had never played Metro until I bought a two pack over the summer. I figured if Exodus intrigued me at E3 that I should dive in and see what all the fuss is about. I wasn’t disappointed. It looks more survival horror than say Fallout. It still has shooter principles. It had a mutated bear in the first trailer.
9. State of Decay 2(XboxOne exclusive)- More State of Decay? Yes please. Rumored in the spring(April?) Yes please. Multiplayer? Check please. Where do I pay? Can’t wait to load into a world for some zombie fueled fun in State of Decay.
8. Super Mario Maker Switch(Switch exclusive)- It will probably be a Port if Mario Maker with added features. Believe me that’s not only what I want but what you want as well. Again a good game for a Baron first half of the year.
7. Fire Emblem Switch(Switch exclusive)- There has to be a fire emblem game yearly right? I assume they are working on another. I would think Feb-May would be the window. It seems that there is a Nintendo Direct coming in January to blow out the games through the end of the physical year.
6. Sea of Thieves(XboxOne exclusive)- March 23. Get your private team ready to go out and find the treasure before other pirate teams do.
5. Super Smash Bros Port from Wii U(Switch exclusive)- They gotta build off of all the success Mario Kart 8 deluxe is having right? April looks like a good window and the same as their big port from last year. It would be a shame if Ryu(Street Fighter) & Cloud Strife(Final Fantasy 7) can’t grace a better Nintendo audience.
4. God of War(PS4 exclusive)- The reboot looks amazing. That’s right this time we go after the Norse Gods like Odin and leave poor Zeus alone. I suspect March but Sony would need to announce soon.(all major God of War releases are in March.)
3. A Way Out(multi-console)- A Co-Op game where you don’t have to be in the same place at the same time. The screen splits off as you and your partner try to break out of jail. It also has the most enthusiastic game developer I’ve saw.
Best rant ever?
2. Spider-Man PS4(exclusive)- I think we get the dual Spider-Man tale of veteran Peter Parker and rookie Miles Morales around June. This game excited me from the first time I saw it. From the first time I heard Colin & Greg speculate about it on PS I Love You XOXO(RIP).
1. Detroit: Become Human(PS4 exclusive) They day Spring 2018. I hope so. April or May looks like a good drop window for the game that could have over 35 scenarios for each in game situation. It got a little bit of negative press but if movies can tackle the tough topics why can’t games?
